# Buy credits and configure auto top-up
Add prospect credits in supported increments and understand volume pricing, reservation, and payment states.

## When to use this

Use top-ups when available balance is too low for a run or automatic replenishment should prevent a zero balance.

## Requirements and availability

- Purchase 100–5,000 credits in steps of 100.
- Auto top-up needs a saved payment method and threshold 50 or 100.
- Only a purchase marked Paid adds usable purchased credits.

## How to do it

1. Open [Billing](https://app.leama.ai/billing).
2. Choose Buy credits and enter a supported multiple of 100.
3. Review unit price and total.
4. Return to Billing and verify Paid.
5. For auto top-up, choose threshold and amount, then enable it with a payment method.

## Fields and controls

| Control | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| 100–400 credits | $0.15 per credit. |
| 500–900 credits | $0.12 per credit; 20% volume discount. |
| 1,000–5,000 credits | $0.10 per credit; 33% volume discount. |
| 100-credit pack | $15. |
| 500-credit pack | $60. |
| 1,000-credit pack | $100. |
| Auto top-up threshold | Starts a purchase when available credits fall to 50 or 100. |

## What happens next

A paid purchase increases purchased balance. Auto top-up shows Inactive, Ready, Charging, or Payment failed.

## States you may see

| State | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| Pending | Payment is not final. |
| Paid | Purchased credits are available. |
| Failed | No credits were added. |
| Refunded | The purchase no longer represents active credit value. |
| Reserved | Credits are held for active research. |

## Credits and usage

Monthly credits are granted for the current allowance period and unused monthly credits expire at its reset; they do not roll over. Purchased credits have a separate 12-month expiry. The earliest-expiring available lot is spent first. Reserved credits are temporarily held for active research; unused reservations return when the run ends. Available is the amount left after reservations. Run cost depends on Effort and requirements.

## Common problems

| Problem | What to check |
| --- | --- |
| The amount is rejected | Use 100–5,000 in exact steps of 100. |
| Auto top-up says Payment failed | Update the payment method and retry. |
| Available is lower than total | Active runs may have reserved credits. |
