# Edit, duplicate, or delete a profile
Maintain target profiles without changing records that were already delivered.
## When to use this
Edit for corrections, duplicate for a related variant, and delete only when the profile and its recurring schedules are no longer needed.
## Requirements and availability
- A duplicate uses another profile slot.
- The protected default profile cannot be deleted.
- Deleting a profile also permanently deletes recurring schedules tied to it.
## How to do it
- Open Profiles .
- Open profile actions and choose Edit, Duplicate, or Delete.
- For Edit, change fields and select Save profile.
- For Duplicate, wait for the copy, then edit it independently.
- For Delete, confirm only if linked recurring schedules should also be removed.

  Opens current values in the profile editor.
  Improve with AI
  Suggests text; nothing is saved until Save profile.
  Duplicate
  Creates a separately editable copy when a slot is available.
  Delete
  Permanently removes the profile and linked recurring schedules.
## What happens next
Edits affect future runs. A duplicate is a new profile. Confirmed deletion removes the profile and linked schedules.
## States you may see

  A suggestion is being prepared and remains unsaved.
  Duplicate unavailable
  The profile limit is already in use.
  Protected default
  The default profile cannot be deleted.
## Credits and usage
Profile maintenance does not spend prospect credits.
